We were tasked with promoting a documentary about a soccer legend …

but Maradona is bigger than soccer.

To many, he is a GOD, worshipped in Argentina, and above all, in Naples.

Someone who performed miracles every time he took the field.

And nothing captures the myth, the magic and the tragedy of Diego more than his relationship with Napoli.

The Feast of San Genaro (Patron Saint of Naples) is a huge street festival that takes place every year in New York City’s Little Italy. One million people attend.

We saw this as the perfect opportunity to do something worthy of the extraordinary story enshrined in HBO’s documentary:

Rest of the World created a museum-like event in the heart of Little Italy during the festival.

The Temple featured artifacts such as Maradona’s first professional contract, archived photography, retro kits, and items never before seen in the United States.

And created a limited edition cube that encases dirt from the house where the god of fútbol was born.

“There are people … that, of course, work in soccer, but there are others here. Artists, musicians, and restauranteurs. And we are all unified to celebrate one man’s contributions to this game. For me Maradona signifies much more than just an athlete, and an event like this is proof of that.”
